 Gaelle BROAD (Northern Victoria) (13:07): (2588) My question is to the Minister for Environment, who is responsible for the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, regarding a public asset on Crown land. The mayor of Loddon shire Cr Dan Straub raised concerns on behalf of the East Loddon Men’s Shed, who are seeking support from DEECA to utilise the public facility opposite the East Loddon P–12 College in Dingee Road, Dingee. The site was previously managed by the Lions Club, which has been disbanded, and East Loddon Men’s Shed are keen to continue. They have around 20 active members, who do regular bus trips to maintain connection, support men’s health and build community. Since July the group has been seeking a memorandum of understanding with DEECA to grant permission for the East Loddon Men’s Shed to continue as a committee of management for the facility. I would appreciate the minister’s support to avoid further delays, make use of this public asset and support the great work of men’s sheds in our region.
