 Jeff BOURMAN (Eastern Victoria) presented a petition bearing 260 signatures:

The Petition of certain citizens of the State of Victoria draws to the attention of the Legislative Council the urgent need for real action to address the budget and staffing cuts made in 2025 to ensure that the VFA still has the ability to effectively manage Victoria’s fisheries resources.

The Petitioners therefore request that the Legislative Council call on the Government urgently to review the current strategic plan to ensure that the Victorian fishing Community still has the core regulatory marine and freshwater fisheries management, fisheries science, and aquaculture management services, including undertaking fish stock assessment and compliance monitoring.
