Ron Hooper
Peter WALSH (Murray Plains) (10:15): Echuca CFA pay tribute to the remarkable career of volunteer Ron Hooper, who is about to clock up 70 unbroken years of service to the brigade. He has already received an OAM for his lifelong commitment, and now the station’s new fire command vehicle is named after him. Ron has children and grandchildren who have followed him into the CFA, and they all joined a huge crowd of wellwishers who packed the station to celebrate this latest honour in an unparalleled story of community service.
