Country Fire Authority Metcalfe station
Mary-Anne THOMAS (Macedon) (10:32): Just up the road, I recently joined CFA volunteers and staff to officially open the brand new Metcalfe fire station. I thank Murray Blaskett, former chairman of the brigade, and captain Len Girvan for leading the campaign for this amazing project. For more than 130 years, Metcalfe fire brigade has supported the community through major emergencies, including of course the 2009 Black Saturday fires.
