In 2025, in negotiation with the government, the Greens secured $150 million over the next decade for new active transport projects that would encourage people to walk, cycle, scoot and roll. I am talking about protected bike lanes, extended footpaths and accessible access to train stations. We desperately need better infrastructure to make getting around our city healthier and safer and more accessible. But instead of ensuring that councils can invest in their communities as soon as possible, the state Labor government is dragging its feet. Funding was signed off in the last budget, but so far the government have ignored requests from multiple local councils to begin the process to actually access this funding, which is in breach of their commitment under the act. Will the minister follow through on the commitment and make sure our communities can access this active transport funding before the election?
