Nina TAYLOR (Albert Park) (19:10): (1774) My adjournment is for the Minister for Local Government, and the action I seek is for the minister to come and see the newly refurbished Middle Park Library. The Victorian government has contributed $200,000 to the refurbishment of this lovely library through the Victorian government’s Living Libraries infrastructure program. The refurbishment has transformed a truly valued community facility, creating a more accessible, flexible and contemporary library that better supports learning, literacy, digital inclusion and community connection. Key improvements include upgraded furnishings and shelving, improved lighting, enhanced accessibility, new technology, security upgrades and a range of spatial and acoustic improvements. The library serves a diverse community and provides a vital space for reading, learning, digital access and social connection for residents of all ages. I have been in the library myself and inspected how wonderful it is. Certainly the librarians were reflecting on how great the refurbishment is and how it makes their workspace so much better as well. I think it is a terrific outcome for the community, and I welcome the minister to come out and see it.
