Danny O’BRIEN (Gippsland South) (14:17): My question is to the Premier. $15 billion of taxpayer money was siphoned off the Big Build and into the pockets of bikies and criminals while the Premier sat around the cabinet table. Will he guarantee that a royal commission into the Big Build corruption will hold public meetings before the election on 28 November?
Ben CARROLL (Niddrie – Premier) (14:17): I thank the member for his question. The royal commission will get on and do their job. I will not be doing any interference.
Danny O’BRIEN (Gippsland South) (14:18): Will the Premier guarantee that Daniel Andrews, Mick Gatto, the member for Bendigo East and John Setka will be required to give evidence publicly before the election?
Ben CARROLL (Niddrie – Premier) (14:18): This is a very serious matter and a very serious body of work. The member knows these are matters for an independent royal commissioner.
