 Jordan CRUGNALE (Bass) (19:05): (1772) My adjournment matter is for the Minister for Major Events, and the action I seek is a meeting to brief him on what Bass Coast and Phillip Island have to offer and what the Carroll Labor government can do to further support my electorate of Bass in this beautiful part of the world. Phillip Island and Bass Coast have always been a creative, resilient and forward-looking community with the capability and determination to grow our visitor economy. In recent months I have had productive discussions with the Minister for Creative Industries and Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment about opportunities to build on our strengths – our internationally recognised nature-based tourism – and grow our arts, cultural and destination-based experiences in our region, including regional activations linked to major Victorian events and festivals. I look forward to an in-depth discussion and briefing about 2027 and beyond the MotoGP – speaking of which, get your tickets and come to see Barnesy in October. Phillip Island and Bass Coast are ready for the next chapter. We have a lot to offer.

In the not even 2 minutes that I have left, I notice we have the former minister for major tourism, events and everything else – tourism and sport and environment – at the table. I wish to thank him for his support and care and everything that he has done in my electorate and being really open. The door has always been open for me and my community, including council and all the stakeholders. Thank you, member for Oakleigh.
